About This Workshop

Turkish Mosaic Lamp Workshop IRREGULart
• IRREGULart breaks the traditional meaning of irregularity, promoting the integration of creativity into life, mainly promoting distinctive cultural arts from around the world, and regularly launching workshops with different themes. Students can learn to make unique handicrafts and understand art and culture from various parts of the world through classes.
• IRREGULart’s main recommendation is Turkish mosaic, translated from MOSAIC, which originally means a delicate decoration made by inlaying. It is an art form that uses colored tesserae such as small stones, shells, tiles, and glass to create patterns on walls or floors. It originated in ancient Greece. Early inhabitants of caves, to make their floors more solid and durable, used various marbles to pave the ground, and the earliest mosaics developed from this foundation.
• Nowadays, the materials that can be used to make mosaics are more numerous and flexible. From traditional marble, pebbles, glass bricks, pottery shards, porcelain pieces, and enamel, to any materials you can use in daily life, such as buttons, tableware, or stationery. In this era of high industrial technology, glass-like tesserae made of gold and silver can also be mass-produced.

•IRREGULart "Exotic Style" mosaic materials are diverse, including photo frames, candle holders, table lamps, gooseneck lamps, Aladdin lamps, moon lamps, and more for selection. Additionally, students can bring their own vessels to class to give them a new look, giving household items a second life. Meaningful old items can regain popularity, increase their presence, and add meaning to environmentally themed creations through some simple techniques. Students complete the selection of materials and design themselves, and finally take their finished works home, adding a sense of ritual to their lives.
